The numbers have been crunched and the grade 9 and 10 enriched ExcelleRAIDER program at Chippewa was tops in the region when it comes to the University of Waterloo math competition.

The internationally recognized contest was developed to inspire students to develop an interest and love for mathematics through problem solving.

Chippewa’s grade 9 students scored 371 while the grade 10 students scored 370.

Results for Zone 63 include city schools along with Timiskaming, New Liskeard, Iroquois Falls and Cochrane.

Two out of the top five grade 9 students are from Chippewa while six of the top seven in grade 10 are Raiders.
