scrabblePromoting literacy through fun and games, that’s the idea behind the Scrabble Challenge.

It’s an annual event put on by Literacy Nipissing, and Executive Director Vandra McQuarrie says it’s free for everyone.

McQuarrie says playing Scrabble or other board games are great way for kids to learn to read and write.

She says “if you say to your kids “let’s play a game together” especially as a family, it’s a great time and maybe they don’t even know they are learning, but they are.”

There will be ten Scrabble game boards set up at Northgate Shopping Centre today (Friday) and tomorrow from 10am-4pm.
