Pot holesPothole patrol is underway!

The City of North Bay says due to the extreme weather conditions this winter and above normal frost penetration we can expect a severe spring for potholes.

Officials say crews regularly patrol streets, looking for potholes and patching them with a temporary fix until the asphalt plants open in mid-May.

To report a pothole contact the Public Works Dispatcher (24 hours a day) at 705-474-4340.

Overall, the city is reminding drivers to be vigilant, pointing out pot holes are a part of spring driving and motorists need to exercise caution to avoid striking potholes and damaging their vehicles.

They also say “The Corporation of the City of North Bay will not be liable for failing to keep a road or bridge in a reasonable state of repair if at the time when the damage was sustained the minimum maintenance standards as established by the Minister of Transportation have been met.”
