The North Bay Battalion seem to be playoff ready. They won their 4th straight game Sunday in their regular season finale by a 6-0 count over Kingston: a team they’ll play in the opening round of the playoffs. Both teams were missing some key pieces as the game didn’t mean much in the standings. The Battalion were without Nick Paul, Kyle Wood, Miles Liberati and number 1 goalie Jake Smith. Coach Stan Butler says the penalty killing was good and the powerplay wasn’t the greatest but it did go 2/9.

Butler says it’s important the team goes into the playoff series with good habits. He says it will be a tough series and the team has to be ready.

Brenden Miller and Ryan Kujawinski each scored twice for North Bay and Austin Kosack and Brett McKenzie added singles. Jake Kment made 21 saves for the shutout.

The Troops host the first two games of the playoff series against the Frontenacs on Friday and Sunday before the set moves to Kingston for games 3 and 4 Tuesday and Thursday.
