The United Nations has designated Sunday as World Water Day and the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority is marking the occasion with an event locally. It all starts at 1pm. Community Relations Coordinator Paula Loranger says there will be a guided trail walk of the Laurentian Escarpment Conservation area.

She says you’ll be able to check out the view from the tower at 1:30pm and 2:30pm and there will be displays with a focus on water related activities.

Loranger says we take water for granted every day. Loranger says water is so important to maintain life and they’ll be make that point on Sunday to raise awareness on the importance of water.

Loranger says Greening Nipissing is helping put on the event this year.
