StreetCrimeInvestigation_TraffickingCocaine_March15_2015Just over 200 calls for service for North Bay Police over the weekend, with 17 people arrested.

Two of the incidents involved ongoing Street Crimes Unit investigations with quite the haul in drugs and cash being seized while another one was a home invasion.
 

City police report a drug trafficking investigation led to a search warrant Sunday night at a residence on the 500 block of Worthington Street East.

Over $37,000 dollars worth of drugs, including methamphetamine pills, cocaine and marijuana were seized along with $22,000 in cash.

A 55 year old North Bay man is facing eight charges including trafficking crystal meth and marijuana along with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

A 27 year old woman is charged with four counts, including two for possession for the purpose of trafficking and two possession charges.

A 33 year old man is facing two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

 

Meantime, before midnight on Friday an ongoing drug investigation led to a search warrant at a residence on Rowe Avenue.

Over $11,000 in drugs were seized, including crack-cocaine, marijuana and various pills, along with $10,000 in cash.

A 52 year old North Bay man is facing five charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession while a 24 year old woman has been charged with six counts including possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession.

 

A home invasion on Friday night has led to charges for one person while the investigation continues.

It’s alleged three men entered an apartment on First Avenue east, viciously assaulted a man and then left in a vehicle before police arrived.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 53 year old man was arrested around 10pm that night and charged with robbery, assault causing bodily harm and assault.

Police say the accused is known to the victim.

 

And city police also report a charges have been filed after they responded to a family dispute at a downtown apartment after 6:30 Friday morning.

A 27 year old man is facing four charges including assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats and assault with an edged weapon.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
