North Bay City Council and the North Bay Fire Services looked at a report with several options on lowering the Fire Services budget for 2015.

Chair of Community Services Mark King says they are moving forward with three recommendations which could save $250,000 in this year’s budget.

A fourth item will stay on committee.

That option is council reallocating a portion of existing funding in support of Fire prevention and/or training. King explains why that’s left on the table.

King was asked if safety could become an issue through this.

Council will vote on the recommendations on Monday.
