windfarmThere’s plenty of opposition to a couple wind farm proposals, including one that stretches from Lake Talon to Mattawan Township.

Several groups and people concerned about the proposed 150 megawatt wind farm are getting together tonight (Friday).

The chiefs of the Mattawa/North Bay Algonquin First Nation and the Antoine First Nation will speak about their opposition to the project and what they intend to do to ensure the province and Innergex are listening.

They say the February 23rd meeting on the proposal did not allow a full and proper participation by their First Nation respresentatives and members, along with other groups.

The Lake Talon Conservation Association, local municipal representatives and MPP Vic Fedeli will also be at tonight’s (Friday) public meeting.

The session takes place at 7 pm in the 2nd floor meeting room at the Mike Rodden Arena.
