movie-filmAll the major film and television production centre in the north, including North Bay, are covered by a new database of Film and TV Crew members.

It’s all about connecting the northern production workforce with hiring producers in an easy-to-use, online space.

Music and Film in Motion Crew and Skills Development Officer Pierre Bonhomme says their goal is to have 300 film workers registered, including everything from hair and make-up, grips, carpenters, set decorators and more.

“Pretty much every job that’s on a film can be covered on there.”

He goes on to say, “We’re really encouraging people to get on there now and make connections.  The idea will be, eventually there will be a complete picture of the workforce in Film and Television production in northern Ontario.”

Meantime, Bonhomme says productions are increasing each and every year in the north, with 20 to 30 productions expected this year.

He says there are two reported TV series that may be filmed in the north this year along with several feature and independent films, with some in North Bay too.

Film workers are invited to register for the database at: http://norontcrew.cionorth.ca/
