There were no injuries after a fire at a house that was under renovation on the 500 block of Main Street East late Sunday night.

Platoon Chief Mike Newman says they got the call just before 11 pm.

“We had heavy brown smoke showing from the second floor windows, soffits in the roof and the masonry/chimney.  We ended up finding heavy fire in the basement,” he says.

Newman says the fire was under control in about a half hour.

“No persons were found in the home, it’s under renovation, nobody was living there at the time, cause is undetermined,” he says.

City fire prevention is investigating.

Damages are estimated around $80,000.
