Team Canada’s Jennifer Jones says the crowds in North Bay for the 2018 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship have been ‘unbelievable’.

The event kicked off on Saturday at Memorial Gardens.

Jones says they’re enjoying being Team Canada, in Canada.

“They’re making it the time of our lives and something that we’re going to remember for the rest of our lives and what a way to have our last World Championship together,” she adds.

The team’s second, Jill Officer, is stepping back from competitive curling next season and will become the team’s alternate.

“We’re happy, we’re having fun, and we love curling together so we just really want to come and enjoy the moment and I feel like we’re doing that and the crowd is really helping. We really can’t thank everybody enough, it’s been outstanding,” Jones says.

After an 8-1 win over Germany last night, Jones’ rink is undefeated at 3-0.

They take on China this afternoon at 2 pm.

Korea, Russia and Sweden are also 3-0.

Team Canada has an up close and personal session at “The Patch” (The North Bay Granite Club) at 5:30 this evening with an autograph session tomorrow at 12:30 pm.
