The event curling fans have been waiting for it’s almost here.

The 2018 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship will start at Memorial Gardens tomorrow.

Co-chair of the organizing committee Rick Miller says you can take a peek today as the teams will all be on the ice.

“And will be going all afternoon. Each team gets an hour as they get 15 minutes on each sheet,” he says.

That’s from noon to 5.

As for tickets.

“There’s still some weekend passes available for the opening weekend and a few for the championship weekend but it’s approaching selling out,” he says.

The opening ceremonies are tomorrow morning at 11:30 and you don’t need a ticket to see them.

Action starts tomorrow at 2 with Team Canada opening up against the Czech Republic.

Miller says they’re expecting lots of excitement.

“There’s a bus load of 60 South Korean fans coming from Toronto and another 60 from Sudbury and that’s just 1 team. You’ll get large contingents representing different countries. Lots of flags and lots of cheering,” Miller says.
