The first Freshii location in Northern Ontario is officially up and running in North Bay on McKeown Avenue.

The ribbon cutting was held Wednesday and franchisee Michael King a former North Bay resident says they’re all about offering healthy foods.

He says the bulk of their business is during the lunch time but they are open until 7 pm for people later in the day.

He says they offer salads, wraps, smoothies and home made juices among other items.

“We are very accommodating to vegetarians, vegans and people with a glucose intolerance. But we are not a vegetarian restaurant as we have great steak and chicken as well.”
As for location he says they chose an area where they would serve a younger demographic.

“A lot of the students live in housing in the neighborhood and the college is not that far away as the bus stop is right in front of us. We’re close to the hospital so there’s a lot of people who might be inclined to move to a healthy diet.”
