North Bay OPP are reminding drivers to slow down, stay alert and stay in control.

They say that will help to reduce the number of weather-related collisions, pointing out they responded to 18 crashes on Tuesday and another 11 as of mid-morning today (Wednesday).

Police say five involved commercial vehicles and 16 happened on Hwy 11 between North Bay and Powassan.

There have also been a couple fail to remain incidents, too.

A tractor trailer sideswiped a vehicle on Hwy 17 in Bonfield yesterday morning while two vehicles collided after a black Honda Civic went through a red light from the Sobey’s parking lot, then headed northbound on Algonquin.

Police say even though the snow has stopped falling, roads are very slippery and ice covered.
