This week, city council passed the 2018 water and waste water capital budget.

The water rates are still to be set.

Budget chief Sheldon Forgette says their looking at December 12th before the water rates pass final reading.

He says you’ll be paying a few dollars more.

“A household with an average consumption of 14 cubic metres is expected to pay around 82 dollars and if they’re on the higher side they’re expected to pay 96 dollars.”
That’s an increase of 4 dollars a month for the smaller consumption users and about 5 dollars for the higher users.

Meantime, a council committee has approved a rezoning proposal at the old Bethel Gospel Chapel.
The church is now on Tackaberry Drive and the new owner of that property on McKeown Avenue wants to turn the facility into apartment units.

He’s looking at 8-12 units.
