The long term future of the Dionne Quints Museum could be decided at next week’s city council meeting.

Chris Mayne is co chair of a council committee that is trying to keep everything in one piece in North Bay.

He says he believes they’ve found a suitable location.

He says that location is the west lawn which is the grassy area between Marina Point and The Discovery North Bay Museum.

Council gets to decide though.

The proposal will call for the city to pay for the move of the home and its artifacts and a volunteer group would take care of the home after that.

Mayne says their proposal is that the money could come from the reserve fund that the city could set up from the land sale the current property sits on.

That land recently sold for $1,600,000.

Mayne wouldn’t say how much the move will cost.

Mayne says some councillors are looking at the work that’s being done to keep the home here and he’s hoping there’ll be enough support next week.
