city police cruiser file photo-winterSexual offences and assaults were up when compared year over year in the month of March.

They were also up in the year to date stats – as North Bay Police released their Crime Stats this week.

There were four more sexual offences year to date, with 120 assaults compared to 97 through March of 2014.

Police Chief Paul Cook says the numbers don’t raise significant alarm bells right now, as all stats have peaks and valleys.

But, he says  they will continue to be monitored.

There were also 116 motor vehicle collisions which were investigated by police in the month of March.

15 people were injured in those collisions.

Meantime, there were 33 more calls for service this past March, compared to March of 2014.
