Police (north bay)A reported missing elderly woman, who may be confused, has yet to turn up.

North Bay Police say they conducted an extensive search for her but were unable to locate her.

Police say around 3pm Tuesday, they received a report from a man walking in the area of Minto Road at McKay Avenue who interacted with an elderly woman, who was described as confused.

The woman told the man that she intended to walk through the woods in order to go to Frost Street and Mackenzie Street.

Another witness saw her enter the trails at the dead end of Minto Street walking westbound.

She is described as Caucasian, 5’7”, thin build, wearing a winter coat with speckled pattern likely red in colour, a white wool toque and mittens of unrecalled colour.

North Bay Police says the woman’s identity and whereabouts remain unknown.

They also say because they haven’t received an official complaint of a missing person, the search was discontinued.
